IMHO that's a freakin bargain ... I'd expect them to come in around $18xx for a set of 4 in 991 sizes 245/305 20's

I would consider those if I was buying dedicated track tires. Their treadwear rating tells me they wouldn't last long on the street.

I know this may be blasphemy, but I have to ask...Do you think you could mix the MPSS with the new 4S? I ask because I have a set of brand new REAR MPSS tires for my C2S, used only at DE's, sitting in the basement. If, when I am ready to finally install these, can I use the new 4S for the FRONT? Or should I get some matching MPSS now and stick them in the basement, too?

Normally I would never consider mixing tires but was wondering if the MPSS and 4S are close enough to get away with it.
Michelin does not recommend mixing the Super Sport and the PS2, so I'm betting that it will be the same with a Super Sport and the Pilot Sport 4S.

Why, what's wrong with Costco?

The problem is you go there for tires, but also end up spending $500 on a years supply of beef jerky, beer, and toilet paper.

Costco won't do Center locks. Also, they were charging almost double for the tires on my Cayenne Turbo S. So shop around. But yes, otherwise Costco rocks.

You only get oil changes in Tijuana? Seems like you would take advantage of the plummeting Peso and buy tires

I called my tire guy in December about a new set of MPSS. $1400 installed. The holidays and work got me busy, so I put it off. Called him last week, new price $1600. He said that the $200 jump is due to the lack of availability from the suppliers. I would guess they are selling out of MPSS until the MP4S takes over.

$350 for mount and balance? Costco just did that for me today for $60...that seems pretty excessive

So, I'm about due for a new set around all four corners. This conversation is going over my head. Does anyone have the time / inclination to explain all the different Michelin options? Including what the 'generic' option means?
