TIP #1 for mexico.
Don't have any sort of TINT on your car in Tijuana, or they will pull you over and its a big hassle. Without Tint your fine.
Tip #2
have a video dash recorder, incase **** happens, there is some evidence.
Tip #3
Nap time can happen anywhere anytime in Mexico
Tip #4
Oil change does NOT cost $350 in Mexico, it cost $70 in parts + $20 in labor

I don't think you realize how fun it is actually driving there, and not worrying about getting busted for going 10 MPH over the speed limit, or getting a reckless. Curvy roads, your own personal race track at nights. The free way roads are NOT bad, comparable to midwest roads, its just the small streets that suck.
The roads in the US are extremely boring and SAFE, constantly worrying about a cop in the corner trying to hit you with a $500 ticket. Cops there got better things to do, such as getting tacos :-)
You actually get to use your car, and not granny shift it. Your alert, your alive, cause YES danger is everywhere.

"U.S. citizens have been murdered in carjacking and highway robberies, most frequently at night and on isolated roads. Carjackers use a variety of techniques, including roadblocks, bumping/moving vehicles to force them to stop, and running vehicles off the road at high speeds. There are indications that criminals target newer and larger vehicles, but drivers of old sedans and buses coming from the United States are also targeted. U.S. government personnel are prohibited from intercity travel after dark in many areas of Mexico. U.S. citizens should use toll roads (cuotas) whenever possible. In remote areas, cell phone coverage is limited or non-existent."

OMG, STG please don't put this nonsense
Their not attacking people driving around around. This isn't Africa.
You are not living in that much safer place than Mexico: #45 usa vs #41 Mexico Crime rate. We are not living in Europe, where people actually are civilized.

Look for trouble, you will find it ANYWHERE, but they are not Hi-jacking tourists left and right.

It's not like San Diego, La Jolla etc isn't already crawling with very attractive ladies or anything. if you want a little danger in your life, try sportbike paragliding or something.

Lived in Mexico for 2 years. Have spent considerable amount of time in Kenya.
You my friend know nothing of which you speak.
Be sure to consume all your drugs before re-crossing border. Best of luck.

I work in La Jolla, and a 911 here is like driving a $299/month Lexus anywhere else... you won't be impressing the ladies in that regard. Im sure in Mexico the OP feels like a prince.
I'd never drive my car in TJ, but life is short.. plus women make our species think with the wrong head
