I think it's a US legal requirement to have camera (now or very soon), so they can't make it optional here...

Just locked in an allocation for May build. With PTS the dealer quoted me additional 57 day production time for the exterior color i have selected.

Rear cameras are becoming mandatory in the US, next year if my memory is right. But parking sensors are remarkably absent from most new cars. When we bought a 2015 Mercedes (new) of all the GLK's the dealer had in stock only 3 had sensors. And that's a very large dealer, one of the largest in SoCal.

Well ... I might ... for a 991.2 GT3, it all depends on 1) the # of GT3's Sonnen gets, and if the
new car has the 'R' engine+manual transmission+lwfw and I can get PTS & ED allocation ...

but not a GT3 (of any vintage) for a GTS ... despite the fact that the .2 GTS is undoubtedly faster than the 997.2 or the 991.1!!!

p.s I will be reporting your "treason" to the 997.2 GT3 RL forum asap

Turbo and Turbo S aside, all UK Porsche 911 models are basic spec, even on a £100k GTS :
- no floor mats
- no cruise control
- no reverse camera or parking sensors (except Targa which has rear sensors so you don't crash the rear shell into the car park wall when going topless!)

On the plus side (I think) options tend to be individually selectable so you are not committed to selecting a large package to gain a particular option.

Ouuuuhhh ..... That sounds tasty. Gonna delete the rear wing Larry ? I think I'd read this was possible as a factory option, without turning the car into an aircraft at speed. Kind of an 'R' for real people*.

* I'm not trying to offend the people who were able to magically obtain an R. I'm deeply envious. In a creepy way

Nope, *if* I do this, I will retain the wing, I'm a wing lover ...

Interesting to see if they do in fact offer a de-wing option, which I guess would reuse the "same" setup as the "R", with the rear diffuser providing the
necessary downforce aft.

So interesting i was thinking of getting mine but in talking to my dealer he told me if I wanted pts it's probably better to wait because the switch to 2018 model year is a few months away and that porsche usually rejects pts late in the model year.

Is yours confirmed?

Most importantly what color?!

My dream Manual Tranny Racing Yellow S sunroof coupe build with everything I would want (except the AeroCup wing or Ducktail which are not yet available) is $139k. If a decent discount were available for an older like this, that would be even better. A discount would be nice, if a dealer a dealer could be found willing to do that.

My comparable GTS build is $140.86k, getting a bit more serious, but a small premium over the comparable S "loaded up.
I'd also prefer the close ratio 6 speed manual from the GT3, but u won't catch me holding my breath till that is an option.

Would need a different Final Drive ratio at minimum, since the redlines are so different...
