Default What to expect in 2017

Here are my predictions for 2017:
- Detroit motor show: 991.2 GTS (not NA sadly)
- Geneva motor show: 991.2 GT3 (NA with manual option)
I've had my name down for a next-gen GT3 for over a year now, but I'm still not sure they'll allocate me one. Fingers crossed!

Really keeping an eye on the Mission E car. I'm interested in a Panamera Hybrid, but will hold off to see how the Mission E looks and/or performs. Just did a factory tour and they are about to tear down a building inside the complex to build a Mission E assembly line so it's moving along.

Also keeping an eye out for my last 911. It will be a 2039 75th Anniversary.

Porsche is skipping the Detroit NAIAS. Perhaps the GTS will debut in New York in April but unlikely.

I can't wait for the GTS. I'm loving the C2S but I really really wish I had the wider hips of the C4S body.

Why do you expect no GTS for PCNA?

My SA told me in November that .2 GT3 and GTS would both come out in 2017, with GTS available earlier. Likely both will be revealed at or before Geneva.

This past weekend, I sat in front of my sales reps Porsche internal order system on his computer and we saw every version of 991.2 except for the GTS. We even punched in BOTH the 2017 and 2018 model year.

Nadda.

Does anyone think we'll get to see the final production version of the GT2rs in 2017? Maybe at an autoshow somewhere late in the year? or is that more of a mid 2018 car?

I put a deposit back in April. With so few being built, it's highly unlikely I'll get one, but as they say 'never say never'! Crossing my fingers!

I, too, was wondering when 2018 models would be able to be ordered?
Does it make any real difference with resale value if I order a car now and it is titled as a 2017 versus waiting perhaps a couple months longer and it is built as a 2018 model?

I wouldn't expect much unless you're looking for a short enough term to consider a lease. Try a few searches on used 2012 vs 13 and 09 vs 10 911s and see if you can spot a consistent difference in the asking prices. I expect mileage, equipment level, and time/season of the year to make a bigger difference than 17 vs 18.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks.

I would say "it depends". If allocations for the model you want are available before end of May or if you just want to wait a month or 2 longer. If you lease, it's probably better for an '18 (at least it is with BMW although they tend to level the playing field with outgoing model year incentives). If you're not worried about keeping it for the next guy and aren't as concerned with resale then a '17 could save you some $. Probably doesn't help much

They are asking msrp so I'm not sure how much can be saved. I think the only discounts are to repeat/loyal customers so your gonna get that regardless of what year.
