John Macfarlane (Mr. Porsche) R.I.P.
You may know him as his handle "John 996 TT Cab". John passed away on Sunday, October 16th after a difficult battle with cancer. John Macfarlane was a founding member of the Porsche Club of America - Canada West Region which was granted it's charter in 1975, the first Porsche Club outside the United States of America. PCA-CWR has grown to over 600 primary members with the help of people like John, who was Vice President and Treasurer until his passing. Since 1972 John has owned 13 Porsches, always aquiring the firsts - ranging from a 911S to 924 Turbo, 944 Turbo, the first 911 SC convertible and first 3.2 Carrera imported into Canada.
Finally with a 996 Turbo Cab and 991S Cab. John lived and breathed Porsche and visited the factory in Stuttgart often. John made an effort to come out to Club events right to the end. We will all miss you my friend

Will be sorely missed. Such a great guy......will always the remember the hell raising "tours" we did down Chuckanut drive, Skagit River road and Mosquito Lake road F1 course. He always had the best looking car and knew more about your car than you did. RIP

RIP.
That's a cool looking 991 Cabriolet. Red stone guards and red Sport Techno wheels with a duck tail. Never saw that one before.

As a Director of the PCA Canada West Region I will miss John and his enthusiasm for the club. He was active right up to the end, attending our Swap Meet fund raiser just this month. And "Mr. Por-scha" he was, always quickly correcting any newbie in the club that didn't have the pronunciation correct!
This picture is one I like of John in his bespoke leather jacket, twinkle in his eye, climbing out of his prize Porsche. Safe travels John in your next adventure...
