It is a bit much when activated. My wife hates PSE even when it's not. I can't say I agree with her.

It's fake, in that there is no reason for it to be happening other than effect. It's real in that yes, it is genuine mild backfiring, not some computerized sound. But the only reason it's there is for effect.

Definitely. Very easy to hear with the roof down on a cabrio.

Love the crackle and pop, but yeah it's just for effect and does nothing. Switch to sport plus, which is the real performance mode, and it goes away.
