I had one back in the '80s (67 GTV)
They had a great inlet noise, with the dual webbers.

I figured they all rusted into oblivion by now.
Good luck with it.

Both are super reliable cars, both were rust magnets but now completely clean.... But both are too similar, eventually one will go...

I can live with all the idiosyncrasies I mentioned at the start of the thread, and you helped me cure some... But I'd really like to have the shifter indicator work without the clutch being released... I'll investigate with the service advisor, but I think that's too esoteric for them ! That's forum kinda knowledge ;-)

OMG this one drove me crazy!! I was ready to have my dealer look at this the next time it got serviced.

The other oddity is the tire skipping noise when the steering wheel is turned all the way. Apparently this is perfectly normal as well. Glad to know that I have a healthy CPO 911.

To me, I would never want the fan off at all. It's intelligent enough not to blow a bunch of air at you until the temp warms up or cools down. Also, there are enough things to do when you get in the car to start it, that pushing the fan down switch a few times wouldn't bother me.

To be completely fair, this is a HUGE point of contention on the BMW forums, mainly from the California guys and other areas that have low humidity. It drives them all nuts.
For me, with the Targa, if the top is closed, I either want air or heat on depending on the season. But when top is down, I want the fan off. So if top is down for several days of a good run of nice weather, it sucks to have to turn the fan off every single time I fire up the car.

On the subject of the fan always turning back on to at least a minimum when the car is restarted, somewhere in my distant memory I think I recall that this is done in many cars to make sure that there is positive air pressure in the car. This helps prevent exhaust gases from seeping back up into the car from the rear exhaust area when it is sitting idle or even while driving if there is an exhaust leak. The air from the intakes in the front are the least likely to be exposed to exhaust gas. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

I find it weird that I look for any excuse to take my 991.1 2016 GTS Cab out for a spin. It's weird because I live in LA and on balance, driving in LA is akin to having teeth pulled without local anesthetic. I suppose what I mean to say is that I love sitting idly in bumper to bumper traffic in my masterpiece of German engineering.

The fan speed is programmed to the key. Just set the startup temp and speed you prefer and reprogram the key.

On the window jump: Mine does it randomly when the door has not been opened. Happens with engine running or shut off and it seems to occur only on the passenger side. Locking it eliminates the jump. My guess is it's a software bug.

Do you have sport chrono package? may be it's rev matching feature of sport chrono package that required different sensor placement.

3 buttons for sun roof???? And that they are on the console instead of above. Why not 1 button on ceiling pull back to open, pull forward to close, and push up on back of button for tilt and pull down to close???

I have Sport Chrono and my car shows the gear as soon as the shifter is slotted, before the clutch is let out.

That will be a tough choice! Here's mine.
