991.2 Front Axle Lift - Should I?
I currently have an order for a 991.2. My build does not include SPASM, but since this model has PASM as standard, will I need to order the front axle lift system? I asked my advisor, and his reply was that if I didn't have an issue currently, it should be okay. However, I thought it might be a good idea to check with those that have a 991.2 or others with experience.
I placed the order on Monday, so I think my last day to decide is on this upcoming Monday. I had posted this in the general forum and received one response, but thought to post it here in hopes of garnering more opinions. Thanks for your time.

I had a 991.1 w/ PASM and didn't really scrape out of the driveway at all. I now have a 991.1 w/ Sport PASM (and Aerokit cup) and it is really, really hard for me to pull out of the driveway without scraping. Based on my personal experience, if I was ordering one w/ Sport PASM...I would be very tempted to check the box for the front axle lift...YMMV. Might depend on how your driveway is LOL. I rarely (if ever) ever scrape the front anywhere else.

Depends on your situation. If you have a steeper driveway than what is normal than yes get it. But if you get it why in the world would you not accompany it with the SPASM. Seems a little counterintuitive to order a lift with the stock suspension. Unless you plan on off-roading it.

I have a 991.2 with standard PASM purchased from dealer stock as a replacement for a 991.1. I now scrape if I travel a relatively steep low speed section of public road near my house that I used to travel almost daily with the 991.1. Instead, I now follow a longer, less convenient route to avoid it.
If I had a chance, I would spec FAL on a 991.2, even with standard PASM, for this and other similar situations. With Sport PASM, I would not even consider purchasing a 991.2 without FAL. My next 911, 992?, will definitely have it.

Apparently the 10 mm less clearance of the 991.2 with PASM, compared to the 991.1 without it, is enough to cause scraping on the road in question I have not driven the 991.2 enough to know how much additional scraping will occur elsewhere.

I was under the assumption that both of your vehicles were identical until you informed us otherwise. That's just how your statement came across.

Front axle lift really isn't needed. 911's are not super car low and the bits that get beat up are easily replaceable. Most of the time you will probably have already scrapped when you thought you were in the clear just to say $%#*& after.
Just get out and enjoy your ride..... scrapes and the occasional rock chip are just minor battle wounds.

Yeah, I may see if it can still be added. It's only 2% of the total price of the car.

If you have a GT3 front bumper and are at GT3 ride height i could see the benefits of axle lift but for a Carrera, seems like overkill unless you have some real abnormal situation.
