GMG Racing: 991.1 Carrera 4S Undergoes Race Preparations

When the owner of this Carrera felt the need to track this beautiful 991.1 Carrera4S he turned to us here at GMG to make it happen. Given our racing experience, and dedication to helping our clients get the most out of their Porsche, we were happy to prepare the this car for a new life on the track.

GMG LMS Harness/Roll Bar

With safety being a chief concern the factory seats were pulled and our GMG LMS Harness/Roll Bar was installed. The main hoop is contoured to the roof line for proper fitment that offers great rearward visibility. The single rear cross bar increases the rigidity and offers a great balance of strength vs weight.

Once the bar was in, we mounted a fire extinguisher. Any time a car is going to be tracked, we highly recommend having one in the car. While it is far from the fire suppression systems you will find on our dedicated race cars, a little fire retardant and a quick reaction can potentially mitigate a lot of damage.

Cobra Sebring Pro-Fit Seats

This client will be using a HANS device so it was important to make the right seat choice. After double checking dimensions and fitment we opted for the light-weight Cobra Sebring Pro-Fit seat mounted on top of our GMG Seat Base. This seat features a Kevlar structure and is FIA Homologated (which means it will be accepted by just about any US sanctioning body). To keep him and his passenger strapped firmly into the seats, a set of HAN’s compatible Schroth Profi-II harnesses were employed.

The exterior was left alone, save for a tow-hook.

I snapped a few beauty shots, prior to the car being picked up. It was a very fun car to shoot. The Carrera has such clean lines!

The car now is now ready for some track use, we are happy to see another Porsche get driven to its fullest extent.

All the components were installed at our GMG facility here in Orange County. However, the installation of these components can be performed by our authorized dealers world-wide. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email.
