Default Tire Pressure Warning

I jumped in my 16 991.1 C2Cab yesterday morning and got a dash warning light; -4 tire pressure warning (Right Front). I checked it with my tire pressure gauge, 27psi. I put a few pounds of air in and the dash showed; 8 lbs higher than the other tires. I let a few pounds out, again I got the -4 warning. I put a few pounds in, 8 lbs over again. I repeated this twice trying to hit the "Sweet Spot" in the tire pressure range and was unable to do it. I drove it with the excess 8lbs. Any suggestions?

I would check and set all the pressures where they need to be when cold and then do a system reset by toggling between the winter and summer set up in the computer and see if that fixes your problem.

Take it to the dealer. Sounds like a monitor failure, a warranty item.

Thanks. I did indeed look for any evidence of a puncture or nail. This morning it still registered 8lbs to high, so I assume there is no leak. My guess is that it's the sensor that's faulty. My tire pressure gauge matched the left front this morning.

Did you have the system reset itself via the TPMS menu?

I do not use a tire pressure gauge. Use only the on board tire + or - pressure indicator. It compensates for temperature automatically.

could be the TPMS battery is low ... you can buy a relatively cheap TPMS reader from amazon to check each monitor individually

Thanks to you Rennlisters, my Owners Mannuel, a hand held tire pressure guage, and YouTube, I was able to resolve this issue. I appreciate your help. It save me a trip to the dealership.

The first thing I did was read all of these posts and helpful ideas. Then I looked for similar threads, which supported the information I got from my post. Then I went to YouTube and searched TPMS, specifically for Porsches. Interestinly there are many other posts with other cars that have similar information. I then verified with a hand held tire pressure guage the info that my screen on the TPMS was reporting, and the numbers matched. I simply addes and subtracted air pressure until I got 28 lbs in the front tires, and 32 in the reat tires because that is what the car had when I picked it up. Additionally, I scrolled through the other screens in the TPMS and learned there are a lot of other tire pressure set ups etc. Again, thank you all for your help and support.
