Be wary of a 2017 that went through auction?

This is absolutely not true. Dealers take cars in trade and send them straight to auction all the time. Many times it's because the car doesn't fit their clientele or, for a Porsche dealer, they may already have too many of that model in inventory. Also, if they took the trade in cheap and can flip it for a quick auction profit without having to carry it in inventory, they'll do that. Whether a car has been through auction or not tells you nothing about the quality of the car.

IMO, and as you may be aware, the only reason a car ends up at auction is because, in the owners eyes, it's a dog and he would have a hard time selling it.
The fact a Porsche dealer is pushing it is a +. As is the fact you've got a lot of warranty time left. However, as a used car purchase, you probably lose any claim to lemon status should the thing run you into that condition.
15% off MSRP on a used, base, 911.2 is understandable, given that, virtually, the entire Porsche universe longs for an S. This might possibly be the reason the car ended up at auction.
Are you aware whether or not the auction it came from was an exclusive Porsche dealer only auction?
