Had 991.1 C4S now have 991.2 C4S Cab - observations
I had a 2015 991.1 C4S coupe and used the pull forward program to move to a 2017 C4S cabriolet. Primary build difference (other than coupe to cab) is I have the PSE on the 2017 but did not on the 2015. My 911 is my daily driver. I put 12000 miles on the 2015 and now 1000 miles on the 2017.
The 991.2 is a better everyday car and a better highway car. With the 991.1, I found I always put it in sport to enjoy the car. Never kept it in normal mode. In the 991.2, highway driving is real nice in normal mode - more compliant, comfortable and nice acceleration when needed. It normal mode it seems linear in acceleration. In sport, the 991.2 is pure fun and much more aggressive than the 991.1 in sport mode. Don't get me wrong though, the 991.1 was a GREAT car, I just like the 991.2 better.
Since I did not have PSE in the 991.1 I cannot fairly comment on the sound differences and the 991.1 sounded amazing once the RPMs were in the higher range. I do love the PSE on the 991.2 and the crackles and pops when you let off the throttle. My only issue with the 991.2 is I am not yet a fan on the turbo whistling sounds that are highlighted when the top is down.
I had the sport wheel on the 991.1 and have the sport wheel with the multifunction on the 991.2. This is a big improvement. An even bigger improvement is the new PCM/infotainment system. The old system was cumbersome and slow. The new system shines.
In conclusion, the 991.1 is a great car and I would not hesitate recommending buying one or keeping it long term. For me, however, the 991.2 is even better. Either way, the 911 is a great daily driver car (except those days when snow is falling).

I have driven my C4S in the snow. The problem isn't getting through the snow, it's when the snow gets over 4 inches. The ground clearance is the problem.

Winters in South East Wisconsin have moderated a lot over the last 50 years in both temperature and snow levels and combined with the much better snow removal, our little township now has it's own plows, within hours the roads are usually plowed and salted and within a day wet and bare.-Richard

That is exactly what I suspect and in that case, I stay home or drive the Volvo XC70!
