Default 991 GTS4 wheel alignment

Hi all,

Did anyone "fine tune" their GTS4 SPASM PDCC wheel alignment?
It's not a track car but a weekend fun and mountain curvy roads car.

I don' t want to replace any OEM parts and I'd love to get more steering feel, turn in bite and grip from my car. Benchmark would be a GT3 or GT4.

I have Pirelli zero tires and car has 8000 miles.

For your reference see below a GT3 stock alignment.

Many thanks.

I wouldn't screw with anything. Not going to make a difference. Biggest impact = new tires. Try Sport Cup 2's.

I need tires that won't compromise wet and cold weather safety.

Well, without changing out parts or tires, you're pretty limited. I would think its optimally aligned from the factory.

Really unhappy with the handling as is?? I find it amazing.

Check pressures? 31F/34R cold

Add toe out to improve turn in...my experience, not in a 911 but in a sports racer and other race cars.
Googled it and found this reference:

Buy the Fred Puhn book:

for a lot of info, it is a classic.

Thanks for your input.

The GTS handles very well and I like its neutrality. However, compared to other Porsche and Ferrari cars the steering / road feel and handling precision are not as good.
But I am sure 95% of Porsche drivers would love it as is.

I'm going to laugh this comment off. You'll be very hard pressed to find a closed wheel car that can handle as good from the factory. The car just gets better with added speed. I should take you for a ride. Bring diapers.

I am so impressed! Based on your confidence level you must be a a race champion in some lost village in the middle of nowhere.

I don't need lessons from a highway straight line pilot... I know what I am saying and I know what I feel when driving my cars on the road or on a track.

It's all about da skillz.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find many with more than the car. My skillz have not even come close to eclipsing my 991's.

MPSS if you can get them in the fitments needed.

Personally unless you drop a lot of money on aftermarket adjustable suspension components are you going to get close to either the adjustability or
feel of a GT geometry.

I'm going too srug these comments off because the proof is somewhere between a good wives tale and actuality. I have plenty of references to accompany my surety. My ego isn't that large to share it here with you. I can assure you that the machine is quite capable though.

In all fairness though. The full degree of its capabilities is artificial and makes the learning curve even greater. The ptv is an incredible aid but it takes things to a new level in regards to edging the car and feeling where the slip occurs. Your basicly trying to learn a computers algorithm. If that makes sense. I'm more of a traditional type driver that learns the edge and it becomes implanted into my subconscious and can take it to its limits at will. The electronics are there to make a bad driver better but a good driver worse. My thoughts. I can't completely trust a movable object.

+1! Why Walter Rohl's favorite car is his 964 RS ... and why I think the 996 GT3 (and RS) are the best 911 drivers cars ever built.
