Used 911Rs hitting the market!

Nobody is saying it's not their right to do this. I'm saying it is hostile. Above is listed over1.1 million dollars worth of car. At the age of 61 I am finally in a position to spend $190K on a car but they won't make a 911R for me because I don't have another $950K to spend on sports cars. It makes me consider another brand.

Winds of Change
Porsche is playing the money game. They are slowly moving the brand from the driver enthusiast market to the well heeled collector market. They are using the GT3 bloodline to execute this strategy. While any business is entitled to move in any direction they see fit, the business needs to recognize it's legacy clientele and reward them. It is just a matter of ethics. Porsche makes money on Panameras and Macans, etc. The 911 lines and their variations are now advertised as heritage inspired sports cars that would appeal to those seeking GT cars.
If the 991.2 GT3 is engaging (manual, old school feel), it will be my final new Porsche purchase.

One other question, and I truly don't mean this to be mean or obnoxious. Why does someone who has disowned Porsche forever and who's bought a McLaren decide to read and post on a Porsche enthusiast site? I'm just trying to understand the motivation. Totally your prerogative and I welcome a healthy disagreement amongst enthusiasts if there isn't an underlying agenda.

I was at Hennessy Alpharetta yesterday and they have a GT4 in Guards on the floor for MSRP, $101,600. I was surprised to see that. My friend/SA is off Mondays so I didn't ask about it.

There plenty of GT3RS on the market right now. If you want one at MSRP you'll have to wait like everyone else on the sidelines or you can pay a little mark up and get one today. Time is money. Life is short.

Once again, that story is total BS. Dealers and VIP buyers have been asking $250k over sticker for these cars. The market is not $1 million+. Nobody is that stupid and that car, as cool as it is, is not that special.

Then I guess Ford dealers are also....best of luck getting a GT350R at MSRP right now. There plenty of GT3RS on the market right now. If you want one at MSRP you'll have to wait like everyone else on the sidelines or you can pay a little mark up and get one today. Time is money. Life is short.

You should be pleased to know that they are making a 'lot' more than
911 of them. 991 to be exact!
http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=976
And only 50 worldwide will be PTS.
We are keeping track of it over at the 991 gt3 forum as a matter of
general interest to fellow Rennlisters & user/readers. I will update
the information when I have time. But many of us think, regardless
our emotional views on the topic of scarce Porsche Limited Editons,
that it's a story worth following. And we will try to document & monitor
these 911R allocations as we learned of them from our readers!
