Anyone running Kumho PS91 on their 991?

Nope. Most people are running the OEM tires (P Zero) or as a replacement either Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Michelin Sport Cup 2. I'm sure Kumho makes fine tires (I used to run them on my 325i years ago) but I personally wouldn't put them on a 991.

Been considering them for DD. Any valid reason not to? The P0s are noisy, the PSS can't last more than 15k miles. I had pretty good experience with even General Exclaim in the past, so I won't pass on them just because they are not branded. Never had Kumho, so not very sure about them, but the PS91 review looks ok from other vehicle boards, quite tempting.

I've been curious about the PS91 too. Really good impressions from the BMW folks so I'd definitely give them a shot for non-track duty. Hopefully they can compete with the PSS in quietness.

I once let an Acura service advisor talk me in to a set of Kumhos on my wife's MDX. By far, the worst set of tires ever owned. Could not get them balanced and the MDX rode like a truck with them. Dealer replaced them with another set of same model Kumhos, but results were the same. Finally they swapped them out for Michelins. I will NEVER own another set of Kuhmos.

In years past, I've run Kumho tires on my 993 Turbo. They were very good tires, but I went through rears in about 10,000 miles. Pretty normal on that car.
On the 991 I'd expect you to see 15-20,000 miles on the rears, easy (no DE or AutoX). Expect 2 sets of rears per single set of fronts. I've been very happy with my PZeros. I will be testing a full set of MPSS in about 4,000 more miles when the PZeros are done.
My PZeros fronts will have about 35,000 miles when all said and done, but still good tread left. My first set of rears I ran till 15,000 miles (should have gone further, I changed too early). My second set of rears are at 16,000 miles and I plan to push them till 20,000.

I'd expect as good or better tread wear with the MPSS . The 991 chassis and suspension geometry is very kind to a DD car's tires.

I've heard the same with Pirelli's and Michelins. I once also had the same issues with Continental but that didn't prevent me from getting a different series. Do you happen to remember which ones were those and when was this? I also realized back in the days, i wasn't aware of match mounting tires and never asked for that to be done/checked and so far, this pretty much solved a lot of balancing issues when I insist they check that. But agree, can't balance them right will be really annoying especially on the 991

I'm on my 3rd Pcar with MPSS. One TT and the others NA Pcars. I can't say enough about the ride, noise and handling especially on wet where I thought the Pzero's were deficient. I am sure there are other options I just feel Michelin matches extremely well with the car. My current set is on mile 7000 and look new.
