Is it functional or just cosmetic? I thought the defuser had to reach under the car (to channel the air flow) in order to be functional.

What would be nice is the highly functional diffuser they use in the 911R, does anyone have an affordable equivalent to that?

Purely cosmetic. You guys seem so shocked. TechArt designed this "style" piece like 4+ years ago. Nothing new.

This Tek one is a bit different and cheaper. The TechArt needs to be painted too. Attaches by current factory bumper screws underneath.

My concern with having the diffuser reaching under the car would cover up the exhaust area which might cause air restrictions and over heating of the exhaust/engine. There's a reason for the two fans on top of the engine for cooling.

I don't think that's the case with the Tek or TechArt diffusers - they are simple add ons to the existing back valance. Vorsteiner diffuser, on the other hand, is a different story as that extends frontwards towards the oil pan.

The Techart is more subtle, the GT Tek is very similar to the Mustang diffuser. Depends on how OG you want to be.

Can you post more pictures from where the bumper meets the diffuser. Looking from the top down.

I was on vacation in Cancun and I couldn't wait to return home so I could order this rear diffuser.

I just called Tony at GT3 Tek to order this. I should expect to receive this by the end of next week. I will take some before and after pictures as well as a few installation pictures. My first modification to my 991 Carrera S. (Thanks for all of your help, Tony.)

My C2S convertible is Basalt Black with Flat Mat Black valance but I ordered the rear diffuser with Black Trim paint.

I will let you know how the Diffuser Black Trim paint looks against the Flat Mat Black valance when I receive the diffuser next week.
