I recommend plugging it to the car first, once booted up select option 4, then keep hitting enter until you see English. Once completed, go the website in the original post to download the upgrade software and connect your device for upgrade. After that, you can use it.

Regarding the iCarsoft kits for Porsche 911 991 C2, C2s, C4 C4s etc

The i960 for Porsche will read & clear faults for systems like engine, ABS, airbags, transmission

If you want all of these systems plus the additional function to do the oil resets you would need the POR-II kit. Both of these kits are shown below.

No computer required for these handheld devices.

I have one I use for my 2015 CD, that durametric couldn;t help with. Havent tried it on the 991 yet, but I only put about 4000 miles on my first one, and 1250 so far on my second.

looks like there is not an option for Mac.

you only need a computer to update the device.

It worked after 4 tries. Dont think I sequenced it correctly the first 3 times. paid $43. Made an offer of $39 and they countered. Thanks Jimmy for your valuable R&D.

You can't update with a Mac OS. However, you only need to update the device once so just borrow a computer from a friend. It takes 10min or so.
