Manual 991 owners, Are there many of us?

Agreed, I'd love to hear someone who thought that the PDK made them a worse driver, and exactly what their logic/evidence was to support that.
Funny, here's a new RS owner that seems to think his PDK is OK.

And I seem to recall a certain Porsche Factory LeMans driver saying a couple of months back that it would be the transmission he would choose in his car...

Love my MT c4s. I've owned PDK cars in the past and its just not for me. The auto rev matching is great for track use and feels almost as fast PDK. Best of both worlds.

Manual? But of course!
Speed bores me. I simultaneously owned/leased a 400hp Lincoln MKS (that ran high 12's at the drag strip) and a 197 hp Ford Fiesta ST. The Lincoln was faster, the Fiesta more fun.
Always.
So when we ordered the 911, the 7MT was mandatory. Without the manual, Porsche would have lost the sale.
Oh, the 7MT shares the garage with a 6MT 535xi touring and a 6MT 550i. I treasure the experience of driving any of them.

Another 7spd MT here! I've been driving automatic transmissions for the past 2 years or so, and I'm happy to be finally reunited with (IMO) a true driving experience!

3 pedals good, 2 pedals bad...

As a non-owner (for now), I've been pondering this during my search. Last weekend I was fortunate enough to drive a 991S 7MT, 991S PDK/standard-wheel and Cayman S PDK/sport-design, sport-chrono back-to-back to help decide the necessary spec of the next car.
I enjoyed the 7MT the most, and the PDK-thumb-shifty-thing the least (by far). If the right car at the right price had been there, a 7MT would be in my driveway right now. And I also confirmed that either I will never buy a PDK with the standard steering wheel, or simply budget the additional $2k into the purchase price to switch to the paddles.
But here's the niggling bit: Purchasing a MT would leave me feeling like I had left a significant amount performance on the showroom floor. That might bug me in the long term. But it likely wouldn't bother me while driving...only on the Internet.

Another manual owner here!
A huge reason behind buying the 991 was for the manual. Even though I did track the car and will probably do it again, my primary reason for buying a sports car was to enjoy driving it, not in setting speed records. No matter how fast automatics get they're just not enjoyable for me. I don't really care if the auto is a traditional or DCT. Putting it in "D" or using paddles I just find boring.
I'll never buy an automatic sports car.

If I were seriously tracking the car or had a daily commute in bumper to bumper traffic it would be PDK all the way. I have a 2008 E92 M3 with the DCT. The DCT is a fantastic transmission and the PDK in the 991.2 C2S that I drove is even better. While I understand all the benefits of the PDK transmission, for pure driving enjoyment, my choice for my 991.2 C4S that is on the way is the manual gearbox.

How boring would Magnus Walker's video have been if he just popped into D and drove around? MT = more engaging at everyday speed/everyday roads.

Do you think driving a Formula 1 car would be boring just because it doesn't have a clutch pedal?
