Default The other side: grass is greener or not?

Before deciding on new tts, I paid a visit to a local lambo dealer just to see what options that I have and to check if the grass is greener on the other side.

My list of choices:
1. $170K 2013 Gallardo LP560-4 with e-gear about 10K miles (pristine interior, has some very light scratches on the front, and paint has some swirls that need polishing),
2. $280K 2015 Huracan LP610-4 about 1250 miles (practically new), or
3. Or a new tts.

I love the paint colors (blue, silver and matching black) of number 1, it's limited in Japan (only 3 in Japan) and the interior is alcantara and seems like new. I'm not sure about 10K miles.

Number 2 is expensive and is in the pricing range of tts.

Photograph of 1 and 2 are as attached.

What do you guys think about them? I know this is a Porsche forum, but no one knows cars better than rennlisters Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Porschenotforever?

I would take a Huracan over a TTS. TTS over Gallardo.

mjj and Ryan, could you please provide your reasoning of why you go with these choices?

Better looking, better sounding, more exclusive.

Lambo kinda screams rich toolbag trying to overcompensate. Sorta car I could see Justin Beiber in.

I'd go with an Aston, R8, or Porsche.

The gallardo because it has my color and almost half price than huracan. But I am worried about its mileage, two prev owners, and clutch reliability if it has been taken on track...

The huracan is a bit over the budget that I want to spend on a car and white is a bit uhm for me, but it has everything.

I test drove the Huracan the other week and it's screaming fast and loud. However, it's hard for a daily driver and it attracts alot of attention.

I prefer the subtler TTS with backseats which I need for the kids.

how often do you drive it? only for fun/weekends? Get the Huracan. Occasional commuting duties then the TTs.

Lambo are too shouty, visually. Hate to say it but if ever there was a douche-mobile, it would probably be manufactured by Lamborghini. To each his own, tho.

My oldest brother owns a LP-580, and the middle brother owns a Gallardo. I am poor, so I own a 997.2 4S. However, the point is, I tend to agree with most here: the LP screams attention, and that's ok for those that worship that sorta stuff. Gallardo is a nice in-between, however it still packs it's share of attention. Gallardo is reliable and fit/finish is par to the standard of any 997 and nearly that of a 991.

I also think the Gallardo is better looking w/out the Sprocket Enterprises Ltd. industrial look.

The TT is, of course, stealth compared to either Bull, but, IMO, about as exciting as a door ****.

we're missing something here.... all great options. Answer totally depends on how it will be used.

If any utility will ever be needed then the Porsche is the clear winner with the back seats and comfort.

If it's simlpy an occasional toy then the Lambo is much more exciting and special.

Personally, I could never, ever, not even one time, close whatever type of weird attention grabbing doors the current Lambo du jour has and walk non chalantly towards the door of the restaurant without feeling like the world's biggest douche. Just couldn't do it. Same way about most mid-engine Ferraris, too. I realized that a long time ago and just made my peace with it. Love Ferraris, but every time I see a guy get out of one I have that feeling. Even though he may be a great guy who happens to be a gearhead with a lifelong passion for Italian exotica. I just can't help it.

I don't want to be that guy, with everyone else thinking what I am thinking about him.

And yeah, I realize there are plenty of people who think that about me when I get out of a 911. But it's a much smaller number. I'm just playing the odds.

And yeah, I know the whole "who cares what other people think, just do what you want" mantra so no need to recite it. But like I said, it's what I think too.
