I like the Huracan and the TTS. Depends on usage and comfort level. The Gallardo with that crappy transmission? No thanks. My personal choice? I'm biased to Porsche.

Gallardo ...... An AUDI in fish-net stockings and 6 inch heels.

GT3 all the way. I drove both on track once.

Gt3 felt like a track car that you can use on the road.

Lambo road car that you could use on the track, but it didn't feel at home.

just my 2 cents.

Out of the choices, i would go TTS. Would you consider a 458 or 488?

I would turn that around the other way. In fact, the two shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Seems to me that OP would have another vehicle for daily driver...

But man, if you are in Japan proper, I can only imagine the kind of attention a Lambo (either one) would garner...

If this is a 'play' car and not a DD, then go for the most exotic, exclusive vehicle you can afford. I wonder whether the Huaracan will hold it's value more than the Gallardo?

If I'm leaving the Porsche fold, it would be for a V12 Vantage and nothing else.

You might find that the Lamborghini (or any other exotic) quickly becomes more of a "point A to point A" car ... you drive it out of your garage, go howling around the back roads, and then put it back in the garage. You tend to worry about where to park it, you can't valet it, you might feel ridiculous or ostentatious just getting out of it or walking up to it.

But driving it, I'm sure, is a damn event, every single time.

Not sure about where you live, but around here the car will provoke stupid behavior from kids in Hyundais and Scions, who want to rev their engines and try to provoke you into racing. It's also unnerving to be driving 80 mph on the highway and look to your right and see someone pacing you and filming you on their phone at the same time.

The Porsche -- even the TTS -- is much more under the radar and it does not feel weird to park it at Starbucks or the grocery store.

I love that car! And the sound is superb. Probably the best sounding engine.

Huracan `Performance, exotic looks, exhaust note, exclusivity.

I would take a 911 R or 911 GT3RS over any of them.

Karl911, hsmith: R8 just doesn't do it for me and I don't like how the tailights sticking out in 458. 488 is just too expensive for a car for me as most dealers here wanted $ 400K for it.

If any utility will ever be needed then the Porsche is the clear winner with the back seats and comfort.

If it's simlpy an occasional toy then the Lambo is much more exciting and special.
vjd3, drsubie, R_Rated: You all have very good points. I have another car for DD that is under radar. If I buy the lambo, I plan to use it for trip during my violin work on Monday (20 miles round trip, large covered parking spot), and short work on Thursday (25 miles round trip, questionable parking spot). Other dates are basically for driving around for fun (play car) - definitely not for groceries etc. As for max driving experience, yes, this is what I really after. I want a car that is a bit engaging to the driver, not effortless (not that there is anything wrong with being effortless).

Love Ferraris, but every time I see a guy get out of one I have that feeling. Even though he may be a great guy who happens to be a gearhead with a lifelong passion for Italian exotica. I just can't help it.

I don't want to be that guy, with everyone else thinking what I am thinking about him.

And yeah, I realize there are plenty of people who think that about me when I get out of a 911. But it's a much smaller number. I'm just playing the odds.

And yeah, I know the whole "who cares what other people think, just do what you want" mantra so no need to recite it.
I completely understand what you said, but I already have people wanted to race or snap pictures when I drive my Porsche! And I may already look like a douche when getting out of my Porsche, so I don't think switching to lambo will be any different for me. If I look like a half douche, may as well look like a complete douche LOL.

I heard nightmare stories with the transmission in Gallardo (cruising mode, improper gear switch, hard twitching when downshift / upshift), so I'm not sure about it now...

For Huracan, I need more opnions to consider whether getting it over tts would be a good idea....It seems to hold its value very well as it's more exclusive, but tts is a tts and we know what the machine can do.

Man I tell you watching the Lambos race at Laguna Seca last month was quite impressive. They certainly had the best sounding engines with the A8 and 'vettes almost sounding as good. BTW the winning ford GT sounded like a farm tractor. The 911s screamed as expected.
Get the Huracan!
