No. But your other 911's likely had a traditional e-brake, and you could use your hand as your own hill assist....? That's gone now

The 991.2 has lower redline, higher torque, and higher top speed. It's a given that gears are going to be taller in that circumstance.

Love my manual - shifts are quick and seamless. Sold my 08 Turbo to get the new 17 Carrera 4s - refused to get a new Turbo cuz I just cudnt give up MT. You'll love it.

The hold feature is the absolute worst "feature" on my car (2013S, MT). It has taken me about a year to get use to it. I have to look to the dashboard to see if it is on because my car behaves differently in order to get out of the intersection. It may be my imagination, but sometimes it will react differently depending on the slope of the hill. Also, I like to be in neutral and have my foot on the brake when I am stopped at the intersection and when I do this, the hold function will not be engaged until the light becomes green and I push in the clutch-very annoying.

It is now second nature for me to look at the dashboard to see if the hold function is on when I am on an incline. Sometimes I have to gas the hell out of the car and dump the clutch in order to proceed.

I wish there was a way to remove this feature.

I also wish freedom was something that people in this world would pursue.

Given Porsche's tendency to offer countless optional features at extra cost in order to greatly inflate their profits, I suggest offering an optional manual handbrake on MT 991's as a real money-maker.

No need at all. HH is seamless. It automatically comes on when needed and I don't even think about it when rolling off. I usually drive in normal mode and at lights take my leg off clutch, engine shuts down (auto on off) and depending on the gradient HH comes on. Porsche product specialist told me u can press the brake pedal twice to activate HH even in level surface if u don't want to hold the brake pedal waiting for green light. I haven't tried this yet.

I hate that feature. Luckily pressing SPORT every time I get in the car means it is permanently disabled.

Interesting. I sometimes feel that I want it to activate but the 5% incline is not there so it doesn't come on - will try that tonight.

Have the 991.2 C4s manual - 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th gear length is same as 991.1, you get much much much more torque hit when changing gears (VERY NOTICEABLE), clutch is much lighter and smoother feel. It's a win win from previous models and years. Remember .2 version from any generation is substantially better than the .1. This one is no exception, all around excellent improvements, mechanically and aesthetically.
