Default key fob color replacement

I know there have been several threads on this topic but what is the consensus on the best one to buy as there are SO many. eBay has a bunch but what about these 2 vendors?

Take it apart and paint it any color or wrap it. Super easy to do. There are threads showing this.

I got the carbon fiber ones from Suncoast: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PKCFKEY.html - I love them and have gotten several compliments on them. Definitely a nice upgrade.

I bought some red $7 ones on Amazon. They worked fine.

Here I found them.

I second the Amazon ones with 1 caveat--don't expect any of the glossy colored ones to be a perfect color match, if that's important to you...

Just a FYI - you don't have to take the whole key apart as in the video if you are just changing out the blades on both sides. Just use a trim tool to pry the blades out and then replace with new blades.

I think the stupid car-shaped key is embarrasing enough, I wouldn't want to call more attention to it with bright colors.

I bought chromesupply gloss carbon fiber on Amazon. Excellent fit and finish, obviously not real carbon fiber. 6 months later looks great!

Buy them from Amazon, eBay, etc. No need to pay a few hundred dollars for the same exact part that you can get for $14.99 shipped.

Porsche_nuts is also right; you don't need to take apart the entire thing as the video shows. The sides just pop right out with a proper trim tool.

I also would endorse the inexpensive replacements from Amazon. When the Club Coupe offered "painted key fobs" for a (ridiculously high) price on the order sheet, I passed - but, managed to match up pretty well after I took delivery for $10 on Amazon. Sweet. Here's the link:

I'm very pleased with my inexpensive covers. They are holding up perfectly.

Amazon ones are top notch. Not painted, won't chip.

Not trying to cast aspersions, but I ordered a white set from chromesupply on amazon. Two days later, I started getting fraudulent WalMart (and other) charges. This was the only first time vendor I had used for that card in a while. I don't know if when someone steals your card #, they wait a month so it's harder to detect where it came from, but just thought I'd ask.

Amazon doesn't share your card information with the vendors, they just charge your card directly and then pay the vendor directly.

That's 100% correct. Amazon is one the safest online retailer in the world
