Here's the process of building the vented cover that will conceal the amplifier rack. The concept here is that the frunk will look like factory until the cover is removed. The frame is baltic birch and the grilles are cut from expanded metal. Then we used factory carpet from the interior for a more high-end look and feel than the original liner. pull tabs were also added to make it easy to remove the floor without specialty tools.

Beautiful, beautiful work - I think that I will be purchasing my next vehicle in Portland...... Seriously though, this reminds me of something Singer Porsche would do if they built a sound system for a vehicle.

Thats such a fantastic compliment, thank you. I would love to build a car with Singer one day. I feel like they hold the same standards we do, just in their own channel of the industry.

I'm not an expert here, but I believe they directly correlate. In my experience, the climax of approval appreciation typically occurs after the first driveway audition...

For those still following this build, here's a couple snapshots of the final stage — tuning. This is where we measure the acoustic response of the system with a microphone in the listening position. We then take those measurements and use the 31-Band per channel parametric equalizer to attain a more linear response curve. We also use time correction to delay each speakers arrival time relative to the driver's seat. This is how we get a focused and precise center image.

Well, that's the whole build, hope you all enjoyed the photos. We'll be building a few more 991's in the future and a 997.2 in a couple of weeks. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, here's a more mild build in a Cayenne TTS we finished earlier this month:

I am speechless for the quality of integration here. One day, when I get that F-You money my car is visiting your shop in Portland.
