She's Finally Here!! (But I'm Pissed off)
The long-awaited call from the delivery driver finally came this afternoon. Absolutely freaking love it. Wife and kids flipped out. Awesome! (I'll post pics later)
To the pissed part...
The dealer in CA didn't send temporary paper plates so I can't drive the GD thing!! I called him and he's acting like he's too busy for me. Apparently they are using an agency to get me tags and he said he wouldn't be able to get an update from them until early next week. BS! Total BS! He said this would be taken care of for me when clearly it is not.
I am going to take the car and get it setup with plates tomorrow. This means a good chunk of the day will be in the DMV of all places. Not exactly the way I dreamed about my first day of owning a Porsche. I am furious!

Good to hear the car made it in once piece and all is well in that department.
Everything else will get sorted out.

We don't have temporary paper plates in California, so I'm not sure how he could have gotten you paper plates. In CA they give you a temporary registration that gets stuck to the lower right windshield until your plates arrive weeks later.

Hey, it could be worse. My dealer accentually send the wrong information to the DMV on my behalf, and therefore it was registered and titled to someone else for three months while we sorted out the mess. The other fellow got the official title in the mail and even got a personal property tax bill for it! Oh my.

You can outrun the cops now, so don't worry about things like plates and registration.

before you go to DMV , you need couple of things. If the car is new, you need the Manufacturer certificate of origin before they can do anything , so make sure you have it before you go to DMV and get frustrated . if used you need title signed by dealer
good luck

You don't need plates in Texas if purchased out of state. I bought a car in Calif. and drove it all the way to DFW with no plates at all. Drove to the DMV after arriving in DFW and got my plates. Took all of :30.

Took a couple of angry calls but I got my temporary plates. Its a shame that the whole buying experience was good to the end. Threw the plates on there and hit the road! Man she drives like a dream! I am in love!
