+991 - it is what makes a 991 a 991 IMHO

I do not miss it now, but I never had it either. Next car will have it for sure.

I like the Sport Chrono function a lot. You get a lot more for your Sport Chrono dollar with the 991 vs the 997. And the clock integration with the 991 dash is much improved over the 997's.

I chose over a 4S without SC for a C2S with - both were about the same money and both low mileage.

I had it on my 997.2 and used it once to see how it worked. Cute. Once the novelty wore off (day 2) I thought it was just an ugly wart on the dash. Didn't bother with it on the 991.

Unless you want to drag race your car, who needs launch control?

Thank you for the responses, I am looking at mostly PDK cars, I truly enjoy manual but after driving both it is hard to resist how amazing PDK is.

As for the sports chrono, I feel it is worth waiting for and to keep looking. Thanks again for all the input.

My 2012 991 manual has it. I wouldn't have popped for it if I had ordered the car. I like the clock, but not for $1600. I doubt the dynamic engine mounts are changing my ride much, but don't know if I would miss it if it weren't there. I seldom use Sport Plus, but frequently (almost always) use Sport. Bottom line: I'm happy to have it, but wouldn't pay $1600 for it.

BTW, the 2012 does not have rev matching.

I have an MT car and really like the rev match feature. Don't use the clock for anything but a clock but I do believe the engine mounts are a plus.

I like having it like I do wearing a watch even though I mainly use my phone and computer to check time.

There is dynamic engine mounts and some other things. I'll never use launch control but likely will never "need" 400hp either.

I went from a 987.1 w/o Sport Chrono to a 987.1 with Sport Chrono. I loved the look, but never used the function. Now I have a 991 w/o Sport Chrono and wished I had gotten it for the look and the rev matching on my MT car.

I would get SC on a MT. Rev matching is awesome!
He said he was looking at a 2012 Carrera. That car will most likely not have the rev matching feature associated with SC on a manual car. I don't think it was available until sometime in the 2013 model year.

I read that the Dynamic Engine Mount comes with the SC would be benificial to the handling, does it do anything different as to isolate engine from the cabinet? Wondering would there be more vibration coming through because of the more rigid mount?

No. The 991 chassis and platform is pretty smooth and solid.
