The ducktail is dead .... long live the whaletail! Time to bring the whaletail back, as it seems to work with turbos

Guys - is there any progress on the ducktail being available for the 991.2, if not I am not buying 2017 4S

Also I have seen this pic of a guy with the black 2017 on line with the ducktail installed, what real issues would there be installing this, and or any issues to the car ? I really want to order one and make it work for the 2017.

Last we heard its not coming on the 991.2, but are you talking about buying a 991.1 and adding the ducktail? If so, search for STG991's thread, its one of the many things he did without issue. Just costs a bit more than if you had ordered it from factory.

Just the opposite, in fact. You're putting GT3 parts on a GTS, and NOT rebadging it as a GT3. That is honorable.

Similar to my ****** Wheeler Wrangler. Big stickers on the sides of the hood proclaim it to be a ****** Wheeler, when underneath it has Rubicon transfer case, Rubicon lockers, better-than-Rubicon 4.56 diff gearing, and several other important Rubicon parts.

I just love that opening right under the hood. The ****** is a great compliment to the GTS - very similarly themed cars with the bonus parts and black bits.

I know a person that just did it and it was around 6K. That was adding the front aero lower facia and painting it, removing the original parts and repaint and install. Of course the back duck and aero kit cup were added though. All OEM parts!

I know there's a lot of excitement about being "special" in this thread... but after looking at a 991.2 this weekend... I can't understand why someone can't make a ducktail for the 991.2. Wouldn't you just need to add an opening on the forward edge on the base of the ducktail to allow air to continue to be directed towards the intercooler??? Shouldn't be that crazy of a thing to do..

I agree the 991.1 ducktail wouldn't work because it would block the intercooler ducts at the base of the rear grille... but if you add an opening for those ducts... it should be okay.
