Default Final drive GTS

I'm wondering if changing out the final drive ratio on the GTS 3.44 to that of the GT3'S 3.97 would add performance benefits? Has anybody tried this yet? Sure gas mileage would sink but would there be any meaningful advantages.

If it's a direct swap, then it might be worth it. I can't imagine it would be cheap though. It would definitely offer a performance advantage, as the stock gears are pretty long.

I think it would be beneficial if it works. One of the biggest things I noticed was that the gearing is a bit tall. My old E92 M3 had very good ratios in comparison.

Just like GT4, Porsche can reduce performance by playing with ratios. I think GTS or even C2S would be too close in straight line performance to GT3 if they had better ratios.

I noticed the same thing. Its basically a 6 speed the way its bin geared. 7th being useless other than being an over drive gear. Top speed is achieved in sixth.
I have a 7 speed manual and like working the gears. They are way to tall for my taste.
I haven't actually clocked what the actual top speed is in every gear but think a spreadsheet is in order for comparison.

A quick look at the gearing suggests that the GTS'S first gear is slightly shorter. The pattern than shifts and by 7th the reverse seems to occur. First gear would than be shorter than that of the GT3 using the 397. Don't know if that's a problem or not until I can figure out the respective MPH of each gear using a formula. Tried googling and didn't find any resources that indicated the speeds that are carried throughout all 7 gears for the gts as well as the gt3. This would help in formulating an estimated chart.
