depends on the paint work and car ....for instance in the used Ferrari market ( exclude the Enzo and LaFerrari unobtanium- type models ) ones that have had a resprayed front fascia are sought after due the paint having a reputation for pitting when hitting mosquitos

If this was a "detailing" mistake, I would expect other areas of the bumper and car to have similar findings. The door of the transport got too close.

Really happy to see this fixed. Very sorry it happened in the first place, but the resolution seems excellent. The right detail guy can make all the difference in the world!

Love the Fiat X1/9. I've had 3 of them. My first new car was a black 1976 X1/9 that I bought right after I graduated from college. Loved that little car. In 1985 we traded my wife's red '82 X1/9 for our first Porsche - a Guards Red '85 1/2 944.

I took the car into a body shop that I trust and they say it is all in the clear coat and that all of the abrasions should buff out. If not, they will color-sand. The only downer is that all of the rear emblems will need to be replaced. The dealer balked at having anyone else touch the car, let alone paying anything to another body shop! (REALLY - after buying in excess of $600K in cars from this dealership - short memory I guess!)
I did finally point-out that it was their reputation, not mine, that was on the line! Miraculously, they have now agreed to pay my body shop to fix this mess! Car goes in tomorrow and I will post the "after" pictures when it returns!
I think I can finally sleep tonight - the last 28 hours have been long!!!
