I just bought HRE P101 for my .2 GTS and trying to decide on tires. My car is stage 2 tuned and is hard to get a perfect launch without tire spin. Will the Cup 2's launch that much better than the 4s? also, do both tires look the same mounted?

Depends on road conditions. The cup 2 tires need more heat to start grabbing. If you track, get track tires. Otherwise 4S is a good street tire. IMO, I'd just launch smoother or don't be doing crazy stuff on streets.

I don't track and don't don't crazy stuff on the streets but occasionally do some launches on a private road with some fellow enthusiasts.

As mentioned the Cup 2’s will do better when warm and on a warm day. But, the PS4S will wear better and be better in cooler temps (around 40-50*).

From the details you have provided I would do the 4s. The cups wear terribly and are basically a track tire IMO. My old Z06 has them from the factory. They are also awful in the rain.

I just threw away my P-Zeros and put on 4S' on my GTS.

I also had Cup 2's on my Z06/Z07 and besides the rapid tire wear they were way sketchy the time I got stuck having to drive home in some really light rain.

I'll only use those tires again on a car that I won't accidentally be stuck in a situation like that.
