Yep - feel the same way. Having fun though w/ configurator in meantime.

Placed my order yesterday for a March build C2. This is my 2nd 911 (4th Porsche). I'm coming off lease of a 991.1 black/black/19", no sport chrono, no PSE, no PSM, so this build, even though still a C2, will be much more fun I think. Still on the fence about GT Silver or Black, but GT Silver is now a bargain as a "standard" metallic color, not $3k upgrade. Anyone regret sport mirrors? They are rigid, and don't fold, but I think I will go for it if I go Silver. Black doesn't seem to matter as much to me. My 991.1 goes back in a month, so it will be a long winter, but one more reason to look forward to spring!

Check it out:

Thanks LCW!
I have a "Build Sheet - Retail", Is that a confirmed order?
I saw him tick off the allocation on the computer.

I asked on Wednesday to be put on the list for when the allocations come out, and I got a call on Friday, so that was quick. Also, I guess there weren't too many people on the list. They had only 1 C2 per month.

I am not sure what it means. All I know is that I placed my order with a dealer a month ago and all I have is a receipt for my deposit.... Maybe someone else with more experience in here can chime in...

Default I have just ordered mine this morning! At last

With thanks to NA430GTS for dealer recommendation!

Build is http://www.porsche-code.com/PH1B4N81 - locks in 3-4 weeks as far as I know, so time to make a few changes

Felt like a paint change as previous 997.2 was Meteor, and current 991.1 is Basalt, both with black leather - hope Sapphire Blue not too flashy!

My other idea for a completely different look/feel was
http://www.porsche-code.com/PHQYEAT6 - downsizing wheels, ditching adaptive cruise, but adding full leather .....hmmmm

Am looking forward to delivery in So-Cal, and the drive back to San Francisco in the new 991.2!

I am looking forward to the torque which I am expecting will make it a better daily driver than my current 4S. I also have a 991.2 GT3 on order so that will be my track car and satisfy my NA desires. It won't surprise me if the new 4S is quicker in a straight line than the GT3. Not on track of course, but in gear and straight line acceleration, yes. Should make for an interesting pair.
For those of you who are interested, this the config of my 4S order placed a few weeks ago.

I am considering selling my 997.1 GT3 for this one:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PHAT54Y8

Just so I can drive a Porsche more often...

Nice. Is it because of not having back seats mostly or what other reasons? Just curious. Thanks

Yes. Back seats are part of it (i have two boys 9 and 11).

I am also not tracking as much and the car sits most of the time in my warehouse. And it is too rough on Bay Area streets and freeways and traffic...

Daily driver is a Ford F150...but that gets boring and would like to mix it up during the week.

Would be nice to have something more streetable...like a 991 Gts, F80 M3, or the new 991.2 which I really like a lot.

Good points. I don't have kids but I am going to like having back seats when my GTS arrives. I had a Cayman S and the car was great but again no back seats. I like being able to put stuff back there for sure.

They sure are cool cars!

I suppose the Porsche code is most appropriate (PHAT...)... :-)

One question. What's up with the fire extinguisher? Does anyone really expect to have to use it, or is it coolness factor?

Possibly, but if you track your car some clubs/PCA regions require it.

Build is supposed to be February with a March delivery. Plan to use this as a daily driver.
