Generally speaking I believe there's a waiting list for C2S orders as well. A few slots became available for launch cars and there are still slots for C2, C4, C4S and Cabs, but C2S allocations for the Jan - March build cycle are all claimed.
I'm waiting for a C2S allocation and frankly the more I read driver's summaries like Magic Rat's. I'm tempted to just get a GTS. I pre-traded my '14 C2S in September and may have jumped in too soon .

Hey everyone! This is my first Porsche, coming from driving a BMW for the last 6 years (2008 E92 335i, 2012 M3 Coupe) and I am super excited! I had tried to order a 2016 Cayman GTS for the last 6 months or so but kept running into allocation issues, and even though it was a stretch, went and ordered the following 2017 Porsche Carrera S:

I am getting $4,000 off the MSRP of $117,000 bringing the total down to $113,000. I was able to get 1.99% financing for 7 years from my credit union as well. Build locks this week, and I should have the car at the end of March. Can't wait!!!
The only option that I was considering that I didn't choose were the sport tailpipes in silver. I couldn't find a picture of the difference between the two online, and decided against the extra money as I was already stretching it with it as is.

991.2 build
Nice build, some suggestions - l had a similar spec'd 2014 911s for a year, and found the standard interior very, very bland, and the 14-way seats uncomfortable. Aluminum pedals and folding mirrors not needed at all. I would recommend you go 4-way sports plus seats (way more comfortable), leather interior (trust me) & sport design mirrors. You can save some money by going with the metal sunroof or no sunroof - if I had no sunroof I would add RS spyder wheels. Ask your rep about autodimming mirrors inside and out.
build can be seen here PH3AFBT1, still with a sunroof
Nice to be looking forward to a new 991.2!

Sparty, note that one thing that seems to come up over and over again from people who have driven the 991.2 is that the Rear Axle Steering seems to be on everyone's "must have" list. Perhaps removing a few of the things GTSwest mentions to make room for that option would make sense?

I have the 18-way seats in my Boxster, very very comfortable and I have specd them in my 991.2 order, consider them.

Also consider leather instead of brushed aluminum trim.
The leather cuts down on all that bright trim.
My Boxster trim is painted to match.
The Graphite Blue Metallic to me is a much more subtle and elegant blue than the Sapphire Blue Metallic.
My build locks 1/13/16, delivery 4/1/16.

I placed an order today for new 4S to replace my 2014 4S. It's white, again, with most of the options incl 4ws, axle lift, sport chrono plus, PSE, glass roof, Bose, PAS/ACC, LCA, camera, full leather, 18ways, sports steering group wheel, PDLS, etc.
I am looking forward to the torque which I am expecting will make it a better daily driver than my current 4S. I also have a 991.2 GT3 on order so that will be my track car and satisfy my NA desires. It won't surprise me if the new 4S is quicker in a straight line than the GT3. Not on track of course, but in gear and straight line acceleration, yes. Should make for an interesting pair.

I had a short term opportunity to get a 991.1 GT3 this last weekend. I had to make a quick decision, so I decided to get it. This means cancelling my 991.2 4S order.
My plan is to focus on the GT3 over the coming spring and summer with 8 track events planned including taking the Porsche Masters Course at SPA.
All is not lost however, as I intend to come back to a 991.2 4S for next winter while I store the GT3 away.

Just put an order in. Going from a '14 991.1 C4S Cab to a '17 991.2 C4S Cab. Taking advantage of the 12 month pull ahead program to end my lease early. Going from PDK to manual. Car is due to arrive mid May.
