Normal. It went away quickly. It will quiet down after a couple thousand miles.

It's a boxer engine, they all do that until the oil pumps up the hydraulic lifters. Not to worry

Normal. All my cars do it on warm up. My RS5 on cold start makes my Porsche seem mellow by comparison for that first minute on sounds you do not think should be normal but are.

Carl, you doubted me. That saddens me.

At your first oil change, select an oil other than Mobil 0W40. I'd recommend Porsche A40 approved Mobil 5W50 or Motul 5W40 Excess. Both of these exhibit better film strength retention than the M1 0W40. As a result, you'll have reduced startup clatter.

Nothing personal but im ahead of you. i did the first oil and filter change with M1 5-50 @900mi two weeks ago. You have to remember you're dealing with someone that suffers from OCD..You would think by 69 i would have grown out of it! carl

Good job. You're my kind of owner. Did it improve? You're car is still very new. It will start to settle down and quiet down after a couple thousand miles.

Can you post a cold start video?

Go out and redline her to loosen things up a bit. Motor is probability still tight till she fully breaks in. The motor in my car exhibited the same characteristics until about 1k and some high reving. It sounded like the lifters weren't pumping up. Kind of worried me too but it's all gone now.

+1. In my experience, the clicking only becomes audible when it's been too long since a good Italian tune-up.
