GTS spoiler lip
....ran over something on the road last night during a downpour and damaged my front lip. Two replacements are already on their way from Suncoast.
I need direction on how to remove the lip. Tips and direction please!

One note, they will need to be painted. Come in primer. Not sure if you're aware of that.
Good you ordered a second. Always good to have on hand.
I know take off/put on is easy. Someone will chime in.
Maybe have your body shop do it since they need paint unless the current one is in that bad of shape?

You know for spoiler lips, just get a rattle can of touch up paint with clear and do-it-yourself. For as low as they are, and the fact that they take a lot of abuse, that will do the job.

The car is brand-new. 500 miles on the odo. Its going to get painted by a bodyshop since the GTS lip is a huge part of the bumper. I am going to R&I it so the car doesn't have to sit in a dirty bodyshop. I just need to know where to start pulling to remove the lip and find out if there are hidden fasteners...

just did this recently; got my local SF bodyshop Aliotto's to paint a couple of SD lips (about $6xx).
R&I is relatively easy; at each end of the lip (just in front of the wheel) there is a small black plastic fastener, these need to be pulled (you should receive a couple of new ones with your new lip).
The body shop pulled a couple of screws on each side from the underpanel, I dont think they needed to do that... anyhow...
after you have removed the fasteners, the lip should simply "pull out", I would start at one end, you may need a plastic trim tool to help the lip out, but it is simply clipped into the front fascia... take a look at your new part to see the
shape of the clips to help with the removal, replacement is the reverse, should
take about 5 minutes

Larry, Stu-
I found the screws but not the clips. I will have to wait until the new lip arrives to get oriented. Once you remove the screws does the lip drop down or must you slide it out from the front fascia?

plastic expanders are at either end of the lip, look under car right at the end
of the lip at the front of the wheel well/fender edge... you will probably need
some needle nose pliers to open them...
once you have the push fasteners out you should be able to simply pull the lip
out, its has a number of tabs along its length that insert into matching slots on
the facia...
I'll take pictures and post them here to help... probably later today

Can anyone with a gts and sport pasm comment on the day to day practicality of that lip height? Or even if you don't have sport pasm for that matter. Meaning are you scraping it on speed bumps or when pulling into driveways? Sounds like if some gents are having multiple lips painted at once, people are going through them pretty often. Thanks for insight.

Been running sport PASM on a 911/50 for 8 months now. No issues with several big speed bumps. There is only one in the neighborhood that I angle over. I have come close to bumping it on a parking block or curb...just need to keep it in mind. (Of course posting this means that I will destroy it next time I go for a drive...)

my cabriolet (PASM) scrapes going into and out of my driveway daily. I mostly swtiched from the SD lip to the aerokit cup lip because I think the latter looks better ...
