Targa GTS

I heard from my SA that only a few hundred Targa GTS models were made for the US market. I have no way of confirming this but I took him at his word. This model is the hardest to secure an allocation for and like you I heard that they are all spoken for at this point. I'm glad I pulled the trigger when I did.

OP, it's obvious that you thought through your build very carefully, so I'm hesitant to offer this opinion, but did you consider the Black/Garnett interior? I personally prefer it to the all-Garnett interior, and one of the great upsides of the two-tone interior is that you'll get some great contrast stitching with your leather dash and leather vent options. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for contrast stitching.

Hinckley,
I did consider the Black/Garnet interior. I also understand that the dual color scheme makes the interior feel bigger. But at the end of the day, I really wanted a red interior car. The outside color and the carbon fiber trim are chosen specifically to compliment the red interior.

Re the allocations on the Targa GTS. I have been shopping only a couple of days and talked to 2 dealers. Both had allocations but the timing on at least one was a 4-5 month delivery.

In my experience most of the sales people say they can order one, but once you ask them to check their allocations it becomes a different story.

I might be just lucky, but I started this process on Wednesday, contacted two local dealers, one said December or January delivery and the other told me today that I could have an October build slot. I signed up for the October build slot, traded in my Panamera Turbo today and ordered this car http://www.porsche-code.com/PGPQG8F2. Of course, it was no bargain.
