Once the dummy key is in why fret over it. It's only ugly if you stare at it. I don't even know it's there. I really like not fussing with the key.

It may be a Euro thing. If I remember correctly from my BMW days, Europeans did not like the "noise pollution" of the beeps. I know that BMW's iDrive lets you turn it on or off.

Drifting
Must be a regional thing.
North American spec cars are different than euro cars.
Just like auto start stop does not default to on when starting my Canadian car. Iirc, euro cars always have auto start stop on when starting the car?
And we have the dreaded amber side markers that most people changes.
Or did you go into the menu and try to check the audible acknowledgement under locking settings? I think it is an option?

Entirely dependant upon the initial country code of the car. US cars have a beep beep as standard, EU cars have no beep as audible locking signals are are no longer permitted on newer homologated cars (unless you're Ferrari who cant be arsed to change it).
In PIWISII (not in any car's user menu system) there is a setting on or off for audible alarm locking signals. I have a UK 991, so it was off by default, I turned it on as I have a PIWISII. I doubt a dealer will do it (they can but probably against policy). Interestingly also toggleable are the Middle East speed gong and seat belt reminders. I didn't change those.
Same for BMW - no beep in EU, no menu option in the EU I Drive. 30 seconds to code it on using E-sys software to give an option in I drive for audible locking signals.

I have a 2013 C2S.
I've read somewhere that when you lock the car there is an audible chirp or beep on some cars.
Mine is silent (just hear the lock engage and lights blink)
Ive seen threads for 981 models only.
Can this be activated by the dealer? What do I specifically ask for?
What exactly are the settings
