Haha yes, lots of new M3/4 having this issue occasionally. Take off wheel, bang on dust shield, remove rock. Done.

Welcome-- funny that you should mention BMW-- as the reason I recognized the problem was my 1st M back in 2003-- developed the same noise about 3 months in-- and because i had a few minor annoyances previous I was beginning to think I had a problem child on my hand--all ended well--still drive BMW's
