Sorry to burst up the love fest here but that section is not painted on the OEM Aerokit lip... it is unpainted black plastic trim similar to the GTS side skirts. To me it helps tie together the GTS look with the side skirts and rear diffuser.

Sure, will go and try to take a pic right now... flashlight assisted.

Bam... unpainted black plastic. Don't mind the minor lip scrapes, they aren't visible unless you're on the ground looking up.

When you buy a replacement, it comes in a gray primer color. Even the backside is gray. I assume that's what color the molded plastic is as well? Or could be black underneath? Regardless, if having to replace it you'll obviously have to paint that area black. Definitely do it a matte or satin black. No gloss as to not bring attention to it.

I was going to cut that notch out entirely, but that was an afterthought and the black area kind of fades away with the silver popping around it.

Yeah actually now that you mention it I recall seeing a picture of one unpainted and the whole thing was primer... I did however look pretty closely at mine and it does appear to be unpainted plastic, definitely black too. I've been using the same plastic cleaner/treatment as the side skirts/diffuser and it has looked good when treated.

Wonder if there is a difference with the OEM/factory equipped lips and the replacement? If/when it comes time to replace mine I'll get the center section painted matte black to match the factory look.

^^^^ same supplier and piece. Replacement pieces always come ready to paint. Need to be lightly sanded too so the paint adheres well.

Sunset Porsche Parts in Oregon has them for $169.87 plus shipping. Come primed, ready to paint.
