Default New 991 Tranny

Anybody have any insights into the new GT3 type R six speed sequential gear box? I guess it's supposed to trump the old PDK?

Cup cars have had six speed sequential transmissions for some time. They are specifically designed for race duty and are stronger and more durable than the street duty PDK.

I doubt it will replace PDK on production cars.

It says it has pneumatic shift operation. Does this mean no hydraulics involved?

I've done some research and it seems to be a non-automatic gear box which you cannot change the gear shift order and you only use the clutch at the start. This on a half million dollar 991 race car, says PDK is not always the answer for fastest track time possible.
