Default Going away for 5-weeks - Any car tips?

Hi all,

Going away for 5 weeks. Any short term tips on what I may need to do to my car for this time period? Thanks in advance.

Yea, you need to start it and drive it at least 3 times a week. I am in Los Angeles and I can take care of that for you.

5 weeks isn't really all that long, you may just want to pump the tires up by an extra 10lbs. and maybe put the battery on a trickle charger. I left my 997.1S for 4 weeks when I went to Japan one summer and everything was fine, I just put a car cover over it.

Lock it. Hide the keys.

+1 .... might not go 10psi but a little over pressure might be a good thing to avoid flatspots

Fill the gas tank. Plug the exhaust with towels so no critters make a home in your tailpipe.

Battery charger for sure! These things drain juice just sitting. Make sure doors are locked too.

I wouldn't worry about flat spots this time of year, but can't hurt with a little extra PSI.

Drain all the fluids including fuel, transmission fluid, oil, coolant, brake, windshield wiper fluid. Put car on jack stands, remove wheels and dismount tires. Disconnect battery and cover all interior leather with celophane. Cover the entire exterior of the vehicle with cosmoline.
