Talking Modern Day Classic! 2015 Targa 4S // ADV1 - AWE - GIAC - Techart // TAG Motorsports

The Targa. The classic configuration that keeps the body lines intact while opening the driver up to the world above. Porsche decided for the 991 model to hark back to the targa’s of old (no more sliding glass top) and put out a modern day classic. When this was brought to us we had a lot of ideas on how to customize a car that hadn’t really been modded yet. Using previous builds as the template we had a vision in mind and got to work.

Beginning with the performance of the car we installed an AWE Swtichpath exhaust system which utilizes the cars valve control to make the car louder. Now the car has a really aggressive sound that is there when you want it, or quieted at the push of a button. You can watch a video of a previously done Porsche with the same system below.

Next came the suspension. We knew from previous builds how to work with Techart lowering springs, however with this new configuration it was a little more challenging getting to the rear suspension. After the suspension went in we put the car on the ground to see where we were at.

While those components were being installed we had all of the Techart body pieces in our paint booth getting prepped and sprayed. Soon the Techart pieces started to arrive and were ready to be installed.

Not long after we started attaching new body pieces did the Polished Bronze ADV1 05S MV1CS Wheels arrive. We knew these were going to complement the white car perfectly, but did a test fit to be sure.

With the car nearing completion, a couple aesthetic details were added. First, change the color of that silver cross bar, and second, paint the calipers. We turned to our Friend Kyle at KI Studios to wrap the bar in a satin black. Even with the tricky side vents this looks like it was done at the factory. Last but not least were the calipers which we decided to paint to match the rest of the body.

When this car was complete we were in awe with how it looked, sounded, and drove. We were in love and were excited to share with the the world. It wasn’t until we saw the owners reaction did it really seal the deal as to the transformation this car took. “I can’t believe this is my car! This is incredible!” is all that he could say.

Nice work. Wouldn't have guessed I'd like it if I just read the description but it looks great together.

And beautiful photography. Where in the world is that?

White calipers. Two words I never thought I'd see together.

Looks good. How does the rear spoiler from Vorsteiner actually attach? Is drilling needed for that or is it adhesive adhered?

Yes, I have the same kind of sentiment. Why would anyone want to swap the perfectly good Porsche wheels with these weird-looking ADV1 wheels?

And the especially bad idea is the white brake calipers. Anyone with a right mind wouldn't try to dip the beautiful original red brake calipers with the white paint. They will be dirty much sooner, just after a few miles.

But, well, to each his own.

The Vorsteiner Spoiler is actually held on with adhesive, there is no drilling needed

It really adds some subtle character to the rear of the car!

Believe it or not, white calipers dont get as dirty as you would imagine. You end up getting dirtier wheels than calipers as long as you maintain and wash your vehicle/wipe off the calipers regularly.
