Saw that this morning.

Seems like there's an emerging end of model run pattern:

GTS

Black Edition

I predict Speedster is next.

For NA puristas, this will surely be known as the Memorial Edition.

This is likely a special UK car, similar to the Dutch car we saw a month or so ago.

Nope - it's on the North American website. Several different Carrera and a Boxster Black Edition. Odd that there's not a Cayman Black Edition. Maybe tomorrow.

Looks like basically the same idea as the 997 and previous generation Boxster Black Editions.

Time to try and clear out the 3.4 liter engines. Base car with a few options thrown in. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I don't know if this is 'clearing out' existing stock, as you could order this from the factory. You could have one of these built, so I don't think it's like there's a whole bunch of base model 991s sitting around and they're like, okay wait let's change the spec of them and re-issue the VIN. My understanding is that Porsche doesn't have tonnes of unsold cars in the pipeline and sitting on dealer lots the way a big volume producer might. But someone correct he if I'm wrong.
