Outstanding! I'll give you an inside tip, if they let you choose your Instructor ask for my buddy Rafael, he'll be in a dark red '13 Boxster S. He's the best Instructor I know anywhere, runs the Tire Rack Street Survival Program, and ran the BMWCCA Capital Chapter Auto-x program for many years. And he's even faster n' me around the cones - and I'm pretty fast <G>

Always Armor All your tire sidewalls prior to autocross. More is better.

For anyone who might be considering autocross, in terms of improving useful driving skills there is probably nothing out there that's better. The courses being short, timed and competitive makes you really focus and think through each run. Just like Duane said, its the thinking man's event. Unlike track speeds which can be 150+, autocross speeds of mostly 40-80 or maybe 90 are perfect for improving street driving. Even though you will use your brakes and tires to the limit, the short runs and moderate speeds help keep temps and wear down way below track levels. Also since autocross is a participation event, everyone spends time running the event, which usually means being posted where you have lots of time to study the other drivers, the lines they take, where and how they brake. Its just an incredibly great learning opportunity.
