Eduardo, thank you for the information. I'm among those who want to get an order in before the turbo motors arrive. I'm also a big fan of the current sport steering wheel option. Do you know if the Macan steering wheel will replace the current sport wheel or will it be an additional option?
I think that since the new '918/Macan' wheel is now standard on the new MY2016 991 gt3 RS and the MY2016 Cayman gt4! These models would normally be furnished with the most 'sporting' steering wheel choice - which in the recent past used to be the 'SportDesign' steering wheel! Well, there is a new kid in town, or so it seems!

Turbo engines at Frankfurt with facelift. Order your 2016 NA GTS engine now.
Good news for NA Engines! Let them live a long life. You'll just have to buy a GT car. Fine with me.

"The second generation of 991-based Porsche 911 GT cars will continue to use normally aspirated engines, according to Andreas Preuninger, manager of Porsche High Performance Cars.
The issue was not a given because all standard versions of the new model, due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September, will use turbocharged engines. “GT3s are normally aspirated - period,” said Preuninger.
When asked how he’d managed to except his cars from the new general rule of turbo 911s, he said: “When everyone goes in one direction, I like to go in the other direction.”

I have a MY 2016 GTS with a production date in October. Could this be one of the last NA 911s to be built? Would anyone recommend a ED in November?

Obviously weather starts becoming an issue. Germany, Austria and Switzerland require snow tires from Nov 1 to Mar 31, but I believe that Porsche has an ED program that loans you snow tires during that period. There's a possibility that some of the Swiss mountain passes will be closed, but they usually don't start getting the real heavy snow there until late-December/early-January.

have you been promised an allocation, or do you have an actual allocation locked and an order in place? as far as I know, MY16 allocations haven't been released to dealers yet. do you know otherwise? thanks!

There are MY16 dealer allocations for Q2, but I can't believe that Q3 or Q4 allocations are been assigned as yet.

However, this is for the GTS Club Coupe.

I'm curious to know, as the door slowly swings closed on the NA cars like the 2016 GTS, has the factory made any information about PTS available? Last I read on this board PTS was in limbo. If it's true that the factory tries to 'batch' PTS orders together, will there be enough time in 2015 to do a 2016 PTS run?
From what I'm reading the 2017 Carrera S will be making similar power to the current GTS, so I don't think the GTS will remain normally aspirated. With turbocharged engines it should be much easier for Porsche to tweak the numbers between models to create appropriate distinctions. I wouldn't be surprised if the difference between the Carrera S and GTS stays at about 30-40hp and the factory achieves that with a modified turbo and remapped software. From a business standpoint that is a lot more profitable than creating a different intake manifold, camshafts, and valves.

Chris, will it also be announced at Frankfurt am Main? Or will it be limited to just Franfurt?
There is still a possibility that the 'old' .1 991 GTS will be produced for the US market into early calendar year 2016. US dealers will know pretty damn soon what allocations they will have and when the MY2016 will end production. So keep in touch with them.
Great question. I just have this gut feeling that the '918/Macan' style steering wheel is replacing the 'SportDesign' wheel we have seen since MY2012 or so as an 'option'.
