Maybe in a deaf community or neighborhood I would want it. I like to back into all spots when I can. I see the area I'm backing into before I do so, then park. Drive out with full view (or do we need a camera for the lower front closeup area too? The Park Assist seems adequate to me, but if you don't have it, a rear camera would be nice!

I don't think that solution works quite as well.
*with camera* scenario- you spot the kid's scooter, curse, get out, move it, back out safely, and then go bust their chops for leaving their crap in the driveway...
*without camera* scenario- you run over your kid's scooter, which gouges your bumper and your undercarriage as you drag it a few feet before realizing what that hideous sound is. Now it is stuck between the car and your driveway and you have to jack up your car to remove it, and then spend a bunch of time and money getting it fixed. And then go bust your kids chops for leaving their crap in the driveway... note that this scenario also involves a lot more cursing.
I just had f/r cams installed at the same time as they did my escort install. It's not the most important thing in the world- far from it.. but it is one more item that *can* in some cases, help you avoid damage or injury.
My rear cam comes on when it goes into R, and has lines (although they don't turn with the wheel). The front cam has a push button hidden under the lip of the center console near the shifter.
What Porsche really needs to offer is a dashcam options with a built in dvr function. Video offload via SD card. Record while parked, 7 day recycle.. etc etc.

Practice good situational awareness and you'll never need a backup camera.

Do you have an equipment list for your front and rear camera install? I'm considering doing the same and would appreciate any information you can provide.
Thank you,
Tom
