Has this one been posted? Seems like a decent deal on a well-optioned '14 C2S; just needed leather interior. The listing indicates manual, but the options list and photos show that it is PDK.

Edit to Add: Another well-equipped '14 GR C2S, but this one has leather interior!

Not the end of the world perhaps but that first Guard Red car just posted was a Porsche demo vehicle. Never titled. I'm not entirely sure what sort of usage that entails. Dealer loaner? Test track whipping boy? Driven around by a PCNA exec for a few years?

Anyone know how the factory demos are used?

I leased a 97 C2 Coupe in 98 with 4k miles on it. My biggest mistake was not buying it at the end of the lease and sealing it up with 8k miles on it.

A lease is just a balloon loan. You can "lease" a lot of things including real estate. Just have to be careful whatever you take under a balloon still has collateral value at maturity. You can also "lease" classic cars.

And used cars can also be leased.

A question - What happens when somebody hits you in a leased car, you get it fixed properly, and yet there is still diminished value at end of lease? Who takes that risk? If they do not charge you at lease end, is the cost of that risk built into the lease? If so, the person leasing must pay the cost of that diminished value, whether they need it or not, right? ...just curious.

In a leased car gap insurance is usually already provided. You and the dealer already settle on the residual/diminished value before signing the lease contract. It's my understanding it is the risk of the dealer if you were to return the car (repaired) after being in an accident. Otherwise they wouldn't include gap insurance to cover themselves IMO.

As said, gap insurance is usually mandatory and rolled into the lease rate.

A dirty secret about it is that it usually covers "cap" which is not including your downpayment (downpayment, including trade-in value, is cap reduction). That is how people lose their downpayment on leases. Better do security deposits when available which have similar financial mechanics but do not reduce insurance amount covers.

From someone that just went through this, read your lease agreement. The risk of an accident is on the lessor, not the leasee. In the lease agreement it states that the car must be repaired with OEM materials to be made like new. I have leased several cars, and there is no GAP insurance written into the lease as far as I am aware. My wife's car was totaled and although we didn't have GAP insurance, I was able to negotiate with the insurance an amount that exceeded my lease payoff.

Rare 2012 Ruby Red S, well equipped and under 65k.
$62,725 asking price, 35,000 miles, CPO.
Direct link to the selling Porsche Dealer, http://www.porscheofmpls.com/certifi...3593670176.htm

Has an accident history (but still CPO..?). Decent build.

Price would be good without the accident history and the CPO, not sure how 'hot' it is with a front end collision in it's past.

A bit more clarification from the dealer on the Ruby Red car... CPO is the remaining CPO pass-through from the previous owner, not a new CPO being offered. A bit over a year left. No further documentation on accident. Nice car, but I fear the new owner will have a tough time if/when they decide to sell it down the road... Would be a decent price for a dealer sale with full CPO and without accident history, but I'm not sure the price works as a half-term-CPO with a carfax accident history am and no further repair documentation...
