Anyone looking forward to 991.2, or planning to wait before buying a 2015?

As nice as I think? I specifically rushed to order a '15 now rather than my original plan to get a '16 because I don't think the turbos will be as nice (for me.)
Funny thing is, I have a Turbo now, went into the store thinking I'd replace with a 991TT (not TTS). In the process I got a chance to spend some quality time in a '15 C2S with all the performance boxes checked. First time in a 991, first time in a PDK.

My recent 2014 Porsche 911 Agate (the faster one) is also my first automatic.
If I did it again, I may have bought a GTS coupe. It's just that the GTS wasn't available then.
I'd consider the Turbo if it includes the options that I want. I do not want a track car since I already race vintage cars (very expensive).

I rushed in for a 2015 model didn't like turbos. The decision was either a GT3 or C2S. In the end went with the C2S due to DD duties and backseat.

I cant really say that I am looking forward to the .2
At least not looking foward in hopes to one day have one.
Owning a 991s leaves me only desiring at GT. Ridden in turbos waaaaay longer than NAs and fully appreciate what it does: as it does it very well.
But, I want to race.....i want to drive in cambered corners as steep as the angles my hotwheels tracks were subject to.
I want a cage and a roar!
A vibration or two.
The Cturbos will be better. Faster. Refined.
I do look forward to 'seeing' them however. Ive fallen for every generation so far......why stop now?

I'm not old enough to know how it was when the 911 went from air cooled to water cooled but I can imagine.
With that said, we all survived.
As of today, I'm not happy about not having a choice when it comes to my 911 next year or beyond when they all go Turbo. I don't weep while driving my car because I have to drive it on the pipe in order for it to make peak power. On the contrary. I love it and all the sound and emotion I experience on the way up there.

I am old enough to remember when the 924 was going to replace the 911, the 993 was the last true Porsche, etc....
We all survived.
I also remember when a long hood small bumper car was <$5,000.

Just traded-in my E92 M3 but not looking forward to an M4. I traded it to get a C2S but still undecided if I will wait for 991.2 or the current 991. The manager mentioned to me that it will be a turbo but still no concrete news on when. I like a NA car but my Macan Turbo is swaying me around towards a Turbo C2S.

Apprehensive about the 991.2
I am leaning towards ordering a Carrera 4GTS instead of taking Euro delivery in September 2016 and getting a turbo engined 991.2 . Will likely order the car for stateside delivery since not able to make Europe trip for another year and a half. Feeling like the last of the NA engines of the GTS will ensure value just like what happened to the 993 after changeover to the 996. Heard from someone in Germany on Rennteam that had heard the sound of the new turbo engines and they did NOT sound very good :-( IMHO the current 991 series is PERFECTION.

Drifting
I'm sure the turbo 6 will sound better than the 4... but will it sound as good as the NA engine in the GTS? Seems unlikely but that is just my opinion.
The GTS sound is truly fantastic...

Three Wheelin'
Not surprised that the next gen turbo engine doesn't sound very good. My '15 TT sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The NA flat 6 with PSE kills the 520 hp Turbo in terms of sound. No contest.

In a planning stage with my dealer for a 2016 C2S for an October ED. I initially planned to take the 991.2 with next year ED, around May, but changed my mind after talking to the Manager. He is very certain about the turbo engine for all 991.2. So I am going with the classic NA engine, maybe the last NA engine, and MT. Just submitted my build code to get the October ED schedule.

2016 is the last MY for the 991.1 GTS. The last NA GTS variants are just about completed and being shipped.

You passed the point of being able to custom order a GTS. Your only chance is to find one in dealership inventory.
