If you are good in math/science I'd recommend to pursue an engineering degree. Makes it easy to stay employed and in some fields, such as petroleum/chemical your salary can grow significantly in a short period of time. I have my EE and my son has his ChemE. He owns a new GTR and paid cash for it all due to his degree and salary that degree demands. Good luck to you!

No one has been cruel enough to recommend a career in accounting.

As others have pointed out, the first step is determine which academic area appeals to you since chances are that will be be an area in which you will excel. My next recommendation would be to start your own business as soon as it's feasible. If you are talented and work hard, you'll make a lot more working for yourself than for someone else.

As in have you guys observed any general trend of the type of jobs 911 owners have?
I guess this is pretty important to me as I will be going to college in 2 about years and I've got no idea what kind of job I should be aspiring towards to afford my dream car: a 911 Turbo

Thanks a lot guys!

Don't ask us, ask yourself what you want to do. Don't pick a career that will just lead you to money in order to buy a car, that will just disappoint you. What good is it to have a car and hate your job and life?

Pick a career you love. You'll work hard to be the best you can be for that career, you'll love your life and, the car will follow as a by-product.

Best advise I can give is to follow your talent. Once you find out what that talent is. "Hard to determine of course" Pursue it because life is much easier when things come easy.

Well I'm 40 and only now considering my first Porsche....I've owned mostly Honda's all my life.

I enjoyed science mostly in school and decided to become a physician like my father. I went to med school on a military scholarship and did my residency in the military and my fellowship at a civilian institution after serving for several years in th air force as an orthopedic surgeon.

I made sure to get my affairs in order in terms of saving for retirement, college for the kids and a two year emergency fund prior to thinking about buying a Porsche. Even now I'm still hesitant to "waste " this much on just a car. Then again you only live once and life needs to be a balance.

My wife is also a physician and I met her during residency. She still drives her 97 accord.

It's all about your priorities and your own situation.

Good luck
