Anyone have part #'s for a 991S narrow body OEM brake pads? I'm sure narrow and wide body are the same? Front /Rear?

Nothing new. Perfectly normal. Same price as 997.

OP,
If you're looking for an independent in the Pasadena area, you may want to consider House Motorsports. I've never used them ( a little far), but they get great reviews, and are a sponsor on the other forum.

If you are talking about the 20K/2yr service, there was another recent post about this:

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8547...ht=20K+service

Long story short - prices are variable and negotiable...but over $1K seems a bit high

"Hi, my 2012 991S is showing a message that the 20-thousand-mile Intermediate Service is due. Do you guys have an opening in the next couple days, and what is the cost of this service?"

"The Intermediate Service on a 991S is $825."

"$825? I thought it was just an oil change and a change of brake fluid."

"Well, that quote does not include the brake fluid part. That's another $250 or so."

"Hey, thanks a lot. I appreciate your time."

OK, guys, from the outset, I do share the opinion that if you're driving a $100K car, you shouldn't bitch too much about maintenance. It's the cost of doing business. I get it. And so if the above quote is par for the course, then I will take it in, as I do want a dealer service record on file.

BUT, from all I have read, $1,100 sounds a bit steep for an Intermediate Service, no? Thing is, this is by FAR my closest and most convenient dealer.

If these guys are way off base, as I suspect they are, then does anybody know of a good independent in the Pasadena, CA area, or heck, a DIY for the brake fluid flush?

And if my understanding about this service is off, then please let me know too. Just doesn't seem to square with my research.

Thanks all.
I'm new to the club and I too find $380 bucks for an oil change is over the top. I was a previous Lexus owner for many years and I paid on average $50 bucks for a filter and oil change. I plan to do my own oil changes on my new car. BTW I heard great things about 911 Design in the city of Montclair, CA. Look them up on Yelp.

Default Pasadena Shop

There's also Scientific Automotive on Walnut (at Wilson) in Pasadena. He has a good reputation.

I'll bet that $150 doesn't include a posh waiting area, expresso and the opportunity to shop for overpriced Porsche 'lifestyle' accessories. Not to mention you won't be getting a dealer 'stamp', which is priceless.

I dissagree- in this day and age of 'carfax' pre-owned car buying, I have found that buyers are willing to pay more for a vehicle with dealer service records.

That being said, there is a fair price to pay for service, and it is definately worth shopping prices of a couple different dealers.

That's really cheap... Isn't the oil itself over $100?

OK, hearing about some good indy shops on west coast for maintenance - what about the east coast? Anybody know of good know shops in the New York metro area?

Oil is $52 for 2 5 quart jugs at Walmart of 0-40 Mobil 1. Autozone around here sells 4 qt jugs for same price so if u don't like Walmart, you can get 2 of those plus another quart or 2 - 1 for topoff and 1 for keeping around as needed.

Filters are anywhere from like $22-$40. One of my local dealers charged me $40 for filter but no charge to reset the light and look over everything so figured we are square. Other local dealers are $25ish with pca discount.

As for Indy shop - ask your local pca guys
