Agate grey vs Jet black on C4s?

Burning Brakes
Nothing looks better than black when it's clean. As the owner of TWO black cars (see sig), I simply do not have enough time to keep them both properly clean and shiney. What's the old saying; Black isn't a color, it's a hobby/vocation? My next 991 will be some shade of gray or silver with black wheels.

I too have Agate and love its color EXCEPT on a cloudy day (when it does look a bit monochromatic and dull). The color needs some light hitting it to pop the metal flakes and reflect the depth of the color. Sunshine, night time street lights, and particularly, in showroom or garage bright white fluorescents. I bumped up the lighting in my garage to 2 x 300 watt equivalent florescent bulbs and the color is unbelievably deep, reflective, attractive, and as many have told me, "classy".

I have a agate c4s when it is dirty it appears as dull looking, hides dust ect. well for a dark color. Met. paint is a little harder to fix paint chips. I do like the way it looks different in various lighting conditions. Small note, the painted part of the classic wheels are painted agate and it hides brake dust real well.

To Quote Gino Vannelli;
"Black Cars Look Better in the Shade" from Black Cars
I have had many black cars and do love them; however the graphite, moonsoon, agate grey family of colors certain look better without a wash than black.
As a DD in the North East they still both are great!

I love my jet black GTS, and don't mind frequent cleaning, but the paint does seem to be made of cheese and already looks swirly in sunlight in spite of my considerable care. For that reason I am having the car wrapped next week. Pictures to follow!

Three Wheelin'
Go with black. I've owned 3 black cars. Every time I said I would never buy black car again. So I would buy a dark blue or dark grey and end up spending the same time cleaning them as I did with the black car. A properly detailed black car looks better than a blue or grey car, in my opinion. If you want to be safe buy one of the silvers. Porsches have always looked great in silver.
