Default Is PASM Sport w/ Sport Design Too Low?

My natural inclination is to spec PASM Sport on my GTS build. I appreciate a very firm street ride and past daily drivers include 911 SC, Lotus Elise, and Z51 C6 with sport Bilsteins.

I know PASM Sport lowers the car another 10mm and that the Sport Design front facia is really low and forward to start with.

Is the combination of PASM and SD simply too extream to not scrape during daily driving?

good question... you might be in GT3 territory w/o the benefit of front axle lift...

p.s
I like your natural inclination! - go with it!

I have that exact set up. Very happy with it and wouldn't have it any other way. From your explanation, seems like the right set up for you too. Just like any car, even with the standard bumper, there's always potential for scraping!

You still have 6" clearance which is a lot.

The GT3 is around 3.9" with only around 5" with the lift. Another problem there is the front bumper is longer making clearance issues even more problematic.

I have SPASM and the Aerokit Cup and after 3 whole days of driving I can say I have been pretty happy with the clearance. Angled approaches and patience are necessary in some places, but the improved handling and appearance is worth it. I bought a spare lip and will have it painted this spring. I am an engineer and am already thinking of a Teflon mod, but haven't pulled my spare out of the box to really look at it. Its not the bottom I worry about, but the leading edge. Want to add some protection without adding much thickness. I'll add a thread if I come up with something that gives good results.

I have it as well. Few scrapes but all on the underside. Looks awesome.. I wouldn't even think about ordering my car different....

what about wrapping the lip in extra thick film?

Any film would rip right through I think. If a scrape can grind the plastic lip down, film has no chance.

Some inexpensive & lightweight flat carbide ski guides used on snowmobile trailer decks. Already black through & through, are not temp sensitive, and are made to take some serious scrapping/pounding. Attach with a wearable epoxy (JB Weld) or just slightly countersink some screws up & into the existing lip/spoiler. Bevel front edge and mount an inch or so back from front edge and they will not be seen.02 T

I have SPASM and the SDP on my C4S.

I initially too thought it might a bit too low. But having owned it, it is low but nowhere near unmanageable. You have to be careful with certain driveways, relearn some of your basic geometry lessons from grade school, and you're basically good to go.

Sunset Porsche up in Oregon sells the OEM replacement lip (which is the same for the SDP and Aerokit) for something like 200, and with paint and install, replacing/fixing any bad scrapes or nicks on that lower lip portion is around 600, out-the-door.

Try helicopter tape it is thick tough and clear. Very sticky as well. I have a steep driveway entrance and must enter at a angle and just clear it so ever now and then it scrapes.

That 3M helicopter tape might do the job!

I have the Sport Design with PASM....and it is almost too low for most driveways and certainly supermarket parking policeman. I already need to paint the lower part of my front lip as it is scraped to hell ...Sport PASM is another 10mm lower.....my 2 cents....
